2013 hyundai sonata tail light bulb

Hello friends I have been dealing with intermittent issues with one of my brake lights for a year now, with bulbs frequently burning out in the socket. Recently, I have noticed a burning plastic smell in my car’s cabin. Upon inspecting the usual problem socket on the passenger side, the bulb was fine, though the socket appeared slightly brown. I could not locate the source of the smell until I checked the other side, and to my surprise, the entire socket had melted. It was not like this a month ago when I last checked. Why has not Hyundai issued a recall for this? Is there any way to fix this myself? I feel the value of my car has decreased due to the extensive melting. Does anyone have any advice? I am concerned about driving it in this condition.

Hey @Tylor, Last year, my socket also burned.
I purchased a new set of LED lights and plugs from Amazon and changed them.
Here are the ones I purchased:

AUTOGINE 1400 Lumens Extremely Bright 144-SMD 1157 2057 2357 7528 1157A LED Bulbs 9-30V with Projector for Backup, Reverse, Parking, and Tail Brake Lights, Xenon White 6500K (Pack of 2)

iJDMTOY (2) 1157 2057 2357 7528 Metal Socket/Base with Pigtail Wiring Harness Compatible With Turn Signals, Brake/Tail Lights, or LED Bulbs Retrofit, etc.

You can buy replacement brake light sockets from an auto parts store or online.

Make sure to get the ones specifically for your Hyundai model.

Replacing the sockets yourself can be straightforward if you have some basic tools and a bit of patience.

It’s always recommended to consult your car’s owner’s manual for specific instructions for your model.

Let me explain how you can check the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system on your Hyundai. The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system is designed to help detect and potentially avoid frontal collisions
Ensure that the front radar sensor (usually located in the grille) and the front camera (usually located near the rearview mirror) are clean and unobstructed. Dirt, ice, or other obstructions can impair their functionality.
