2020 Sonata Turbo P0471 Error Code Still Not Fixed After 7 Dealer Visits

I’ve dropped my 2020 Sonata Turbo off at the dealer for the 7th time now due to the P0471 error code. So far, they’ve reprogrammed the computer, replaced the exhaust pressure sensor, and then reprogrammed the sensor again, but the issue still isn’t fixed.

I’ve even opened a case with Hyundai Motors of America but haven’t made much progress. The car has just under 60k miles. Has anyone successfully resolved this code?

Is that the exhaust pressure sensor code? If so it’s most likely the egr valve

Its YOUR car! Don’t ask, TELL them you want them to replace the EGR Valve!! Of course, they will ay you gave to pay. Tell them if it doesn’t fix the problem, you will pay. If it does and the warranty covers it, even better!! The goal here is to get your car fixed CORRECTLY!

If possible, consider taking your Sonata to an independent mechanic or a different Hyundai dealership. A fresh set of eyes may lead to a new diagnosis and potentially resolve the issue.

Look into forums and online communities for Hyundai owners. Sometimes, other drivers will share solutions that may not be common knowledge at dealerships, such as issues with wiring, connections, or specific software updates.

Check if the work done so far is covered under warranty. Since your vehicle is a 2020 model with under 60k miles, you may still be under warranty. This could provide you some more leverage in urging them to find a resolution.
