2024 Tucson is barely 8 months old and showing a code

I got this code last weekend and it went away without any repairs, so I thought it was just an open fuel cap. Now that it has come back, I took it to a mechanic who showed me the code.
I tried to check the warranty coverage but couldn’t figure out if this sensor circuit would be included or not.
I bought the car in May 2024 and I’ve only driven 12,000kms so far.
I would really appreciate any guidance to avoid getting ripped off at the dealership.

You should take a new car to the dealer, that’s what the warranty is for.

It’s Sunday, so the dealerships are closed. Plus, a mechanic friend of mine helped me out with his code scanner to see what was wrong. I will definitely take it to the dealership for fixes.

I can’t see why the warranty wouldn’t cover it. I hope you didn’t pay for diagnostic time.

My mechanic is a friend, so he helped me with the code for free.

I think this should be under warranty. You really need to have it checked out. It’s strange to have issues with so few miles.

Yeah, I plan to take it to the dealership tomorrow. I just went to the mechanic today because

  1. I wanted to confirm it wasn’t just an open fuel cap issue
  2. I didn’t have to pay anything to find out the code.

Make sure to book an appointment. You usually can’t just show up for diagnostics.

Hope you didn’t reset the code?

No, but the code might reset by itself. I had the engine light on last Saturday, it went off by Monday, and now it’s back again today.

I see the aluminum pedal cover, is this a Tucson N-Line? You should definitely take it to the dealership since you have a warranty.

Yes, it’s a N-Line hybrid.

Make sure to take it in. Some have open recalls because the fuse sizes changed during production, so you should get that checked.

Have you had the oil changed yet?

I have my second service due soon, I’ve got about 700-800 kms left until then.

Open the hood and check if your dipstick is fully seated in the engine.

@Kelvin
Yes, it’s in all the way.

Is your oil cap also tight? I ask because I’ve seen this code caused by those two issues after a repair. And yes, it should definitely be covered under warranty unless a rodent chewed the wires.

@Kelvin
Do you actually work at a Hyundai service center? Can you see the code history? Like, can you check if the car showed the code last weekend before it reset itself, or is that completely gone from the records now?

@Wyatt
Yes, I work at a Hyundai dealer in the northeast us. We can actually see the code history.
