@Lilian
Your statement of ‘if they have 2FA on, no one is getting in’ also scares me and is entirely flawed. 2FA is not a guarantee you will not get compromised, especially if the second factor is weak, like a text message (if it’s truly ‘2FA’, and not a real MFA solution, it probably is).
While SIM swaps are a lot of work and really rare in lower-value targets, other methods of sniffing your SMS have occurred. If you use a crappy TOTP provider that allows exportable private keys, you’re likely already compromised.

Because that’s sooo much faster than simply pressing a button… /s
Honestly, I have a 24 Sonata and I do have digital key setup. The digital key works like the normal key, with the phone in my pocket; the moment I grab the door handle, the car unlocks and I can turn on the car once I’m inside. I only take my FOB when doing long trips, but the rest is just my phone working as a key.
I don’t do anything complicated unless I want to show off, and I just do Bluelink.
I think it’s cool. Not for me, though. I don’t wear watches. The fob in my pocket doesn’t bother me.
However, what does bother me is that 63-foot-long display on the dash. I haven’t seen the newest Tucson’s yet. Absolutely fuck that. I want less screens in my car. I’ve got a '17 Tucson. No way I’m moving into that thing when it’s time to get a new car.
I’ll be honest, I’m 44, so I grew up in the 80s and always love tech. As much as I love my new Tucson, it’s definitely overwhelming at times.
That being said, the single long display is honestly really, really nice. It’s a super hi-res display. Having widescreen maps is something I don’t know I wanted, and you can run split-screen apps so you can show weather and maps or music and maps.
The HUD is the craziest, most distracting thing. Ha.
The display definitely takes some getting used to though!
@Timber
I’m probably just being a wimp and will like it eventually. First impressions are meh, though. Haha.
I grew up in the 90s and just like a nice button and something I can fix if it has issues. With that level of tech, there’s absolutely nothing I can do repair-wise.
@Beatrix
Gen X’er adding some age here; my wife and I test-drove the car and we were blown away. We both loved the screen! To be honest, it hadn’t crossed my mind that someone else might have disliked it.
I’m on the earlier end of the Gen X spectrum. I actually used to talk to my GF on a wall-mounted rotary phone with a super long cord so I could hide in the laundry room with the door closed. (1972 baby; wife was ’78)
