43 days and no updates... will I ever get my 2024 Santa Fe back?

It all started with a dead battery. Then there was a glitch in the tailgate, and the car died again. I brought it back to the dealership, and they said it was an issue needing Hyundai engineers. They supposedly came on day 7, took some data, and left. Now, 43 days later, I’ve got no answers, just “be patient.” Meanwhile, I’m still paying for this car. I really wanted this model, but now I hate it and wish I’d kept my 2022 Santa Fe Hybrid.

The dealer had our 2008 Santa Fe for five months waiting for a subframe. We got so used to the loaner (a 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross) that it felt weird when our car was finally fixed.

I hate my loaner. It’s a Mazda CX-90, and it’s awful. Plus, I’m paying for my car while getting no real answers. All I hear is “we’re working on it.” Wish they’d just be honest.

I think there’s something about pausing payments if your car’s in the shop for too long. When my Santa Fe’s transmission broke, they had it back to me in three weeks. I mentioned being worried about making payments while waiting, and they said Hyundai would pause them if it dragged on. Maybe ask about that? Good luck.

@Victor0
I already asked, and they said they don’t do that.

Is your Santa Fe a hybrid?

No, it’s not a hybrid.

Isn’t the CX-90 a great car?

For me, it’s terrible. The infotainment system is outdated, and the back rows are cramped. The only decent thing is the six-cylinder engine. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

@klausmark3
I had a CX-9 once. It costs way too much for what you get. No touch screen in 2024? Seriously?

@klausmark3
I rented one recently and didn’t like it either. Why are people into Mazdas?

I guess Mazda fans just love them, but it’s not for me. I think it looks ugly, it doesn’t drive well, and the only thing I can give it credit for is the six-cylinder engine.

Brand loyalty is a strong thing. A friend of mine has a CX-90. The interior’s alright, but the outside? It’s ugly.

Funny timing. Our Santa Fe’s battery died this morning too. Is yours a hybrid?

Got it, thanks.

Did they at least give you a loaner car?

Yeah, but it’s a 2024 Mazda CX-90, and I can’t stand it. It’s not the car I picked to drive. I loved my Santa Fe, but now just thinking about it annoys me.

I’m a truck driver, so my car sits for weeks at a time. My Blue Link app alerts me if the battery gets low.

Mine didn’t give any warnings. Who knows what’s going on.
