I bought the 2025 Santa Fe Hybrid Preferred with the Trim Package . Man, they really changed the design. We used to have a 2012 model, and the new one looks like a mix of a Lincoln Navigator and a Land Rover – a beautiful combination.
I placed my order back in October this year. At first, they told me it would be here by January or February, but now they’re saying Spring 2025. My contract even says June 2025! That feels like such a long wait.
Does anyone know when theirs is coming? I’m hoping we get ours before June 2025. Otherwise, we might just get a 2026 model instead .
A couple of weeks ago, I went to a dealership near me looking for the same car. They told me there was over a one-year wait. I checked at almost every dealership in my area, but no luck.
Then, I found one on the website of a dealership in a nearby province. I called, and they told me it was already sold, but someone had cancelled an incoming unit that was arriving at the end of the month. They let me put down a deposit to secure it. I pick it up on Friday.
This doesn’t really help you, but if you’re looking to get one sooner, try checking online and calling around to see if you get lucky.
@BobReuben
I ordered Pebble Blue back in September. Still waiting on mine. I asked for the same price as the website, and they told me they’d have to place a special order. They’re getting some hybrids this month, but they’ll sell those at a higher price.
I ordered my Santa Fe Hybrid Preferred Trim with the Trend Package back in June 12th… and I’m picking it up on Thursday (Nov 21st). I live in Newfoundland, and it’s a 2025 model. It’s Pebble Blue!
We got lucky, and the dealership we checked had one coming in the next week that was unclaimed. So we put a deposit down and took it. However, we also checked the Hyundai Canada website and entered postal codes from other cities nearby to see what inventory was coming in. We called around, and most incoming hybrids were already sold, but we found one or two dealerships that still had some available.
I’d recommend putting down a refundable deposit at different dealerships with incoming stock, but you might not get to choose the color if you take one that’s already coming in.
Talk to your dealer. They should be able to tell you when the VIN is assigned, how long after that the delivery typically happens, and when it has entered Canada at the port. They can also give you an estimated timeline for release and transport from the port.
Call around. I was told there was a 6-12 month waitlist. I went on one waitlist, and three days later, they told me a unit was cancelled and available. I also found 12 units that were coming in and weren’t sold yet.
When you went on the waitlist, did you put a deposit down? So you had to buy from the same dealer?
The deposit was refundable. I didn’t end up buying from that dealer because another dealer had my preferred color coming in. I ended up buying one in Edmonton. A lot of the dealers in Alberta had inbound inventory.
@Jony
That’s awesome. Thanks for the advice. I’ll check if my deposit is refundable, and then I’ll look around. I’m in Toronto, so I’m not sure how much luck I’ll have with the demand here.

Yeah, I’m in BC, and the inventory was pretty low here. I actually flew to Alberta to pick it up.
I put my deposit down in early October. On November 1st, they called to say they were selling the 2024 demo with only 200km on it, so we took that one. It’s Pebble Blue too.
Production for new orders is expected to start in February, with early deliveries likely in April. But it doesn’t mean yours will be one of the first units.
I signed the contract in late August with a delivery date of late November to end of December (about 3-4 months). I haven’t checked recently, but last I heard, it was still on track.
So I found one being shipped next month, but it’s $1600 more than the one I reserved. My all-in price is $54,200 CAD, but the other one is listed at $55,600.
I’m torn between waiting for the cheaper one or just paying more and getting the car sooner .
