Not sure if the dealer would help since I just got it a few days ago. Would this be an expensive fix? The paint is definitely damaged… really frustrating since it’s my first new car.
It’s a car… rock chips on the bumper, especially down low, aren’t worth fixing. You’ll just get more soon enough.

Don’t listen to that… this is a big one. You should get it fixed.
@NeonNinja
I know it’s not the worst spot… just sucks that it happened so fast.

I get it. I had an 02 Acura TL Type-S that I loved… at first, every little scratch stressed me out. Then I realised it was just unnecessary stress. I still take care of my cars, but small stuff like this doesn’t bother me anymore. You might feel the same way someday.
If the dealer’s price is too high, check out YouTube. There are tons of DIY videos on fixing scratches. If it looks too hard, you can always shop around for a detailer.

YouTube University is the best!
@PatrickHyundai
For real! You can learn so much there.

I actually went to college to be a teacher but I never stop learning!
When I got my 23, I hadn’t even made my first car payment before a rock or bolt cracked my windshield. A few months later, I got rear-ended in standstill traffic by a kid on his phone. His car was fine, but my trunk was wrecked.
I know how you feel… it sucks when stuff like this happens and there’s nothing you can do.
@barabra
Yeah, I guess it could’ve been worse. I thought I dodged it, but I guess not.
I have a 24… my first new car too. Less than a year in and I already have three door dings, all with chipped paint.
No solution, just saying I get it. Hope your fix is quick and cheap.

That sounds rough… did you get them fixed? Expensive?
@Kelvin
Yeah, mine’s bad. Paintless dent repair won’t work because of where they are, and the paint is chipped. Haven’t gotten an estimate yet, but people say it’ll be thousands.
I live in an apartment, so it keeps happening in the parking lot. Kinda scared to pay for a fix just for it to happen again.
Yours might not be as bad though… hopefully it’s a simple and cheap fix.
That sucks. If the dealer won’t help, at least it’s on the lower part of the car so it’s not super noticeable. If it were me, I’d fix it myself so it doesn’t get recorded as damage.
Do you have insurance that covers this kind of damage?
The dealer will probably just send you to a body shop. For scratches in this area, repairs can get expensive. If you drive in places where this happens a lot, it might not be worth fixing.
That’s rough… not much you can do except try to stay further back from traffic when driving.
I’d at least see if the dealer will fix it or if insurance would cover it. With a hit that big, it might have knocked something loose in the bumper.
@TheOneHyundaiGuru
I was already far back… if I was closer, it would’ve hit my hood or windshield. Next time I’ll try the shoulder if it’s not too narrow.
