Changed my Tucson's front emblem from silver to black using Vinyl wrap. Was that a good move?

That looks great! I think the 2025s come with black emblems on some models. I’m not sure why they didn’t offer this as an option before.

For US cars, the lower trims are chrome, but the Limited models have the darker emblem. Looks like the 2025s did the same as the pre-facelift models.

Thanks! Mine is a 2022 Convenience PHEV. Some of my model year do come with black emblems.

This was my first time wrapping with vinyl. It wasn’t perfect, but I think it looks better now because it matches the front grill better. From a distance, it looks scratched because I didn’t wrap the inner silver. Thinking of wrapping the inside too so it’s all black. What do you think?

You could wrap the inner part or maybe use some flat/matte plastidip. It’s fun to mask things off. I dipped the trim on my doors and C-pillars. I wasn’t perfect either on my first try, but now when it starts peeling, I have some rain guard pieces to install, and I’ll plastidip the areas those don’t cover. Or I might try vinyl next time.

I was thinking about plastidip too, but I was worried about overspraying into the grill. The vinyl I used was a bit stiffer than expected, even after heating it with a hair dryer. It made it tricky to cover the inner emblem. Maybe I need a more flexible one that fits better around the inner grill.

I plastidipped the back badges on my Tucson. You’re right to be concerned about overspray, especially on the grill and radiator. Plastidip is neat, but it’s got its limits.

The chrome isn’t bad. I just didn’t like the strong contrast.

I think the darker logo looks cool. My 2024 PHEV limited came with one like that.

I really wanted an all-black Tucson, but this is the darkest PHEV I could find near me. Mine is Amazon grey, but it looks a bit green in certain light.

The chrome emblem against the black grill looks too much. It looks good now though!

Yes, I linked the exact vinyl I used in another comment. It was easy and cheap (just $10 for materials), plus I used a heat gun (or you can use a hair dryer).
