Do people actually use paddle shifters or are they just for show?

Anyone here actually use the paddle shifters in the Pali? I have a 24 Pali Cali, and honestly, I wish they weren’t there. I feel like I’m going to hit them by mistake while driving.

I’d trade the paddle shifters for auto-folding mirrors any day.

I was about to say I use mine all the time, but yeah… auto-folding mirrors would be way better.

I hit them by accident once and had to pull over to figure out how to get back into Drive.

You can just press the Drive button again, and it’ll switch back.

@Miltan
If you just keep driving normally, it will switch back after a bit.

@Miltan
Or just hold the up paddle for a second.

Lol no need to pull over… just press the Drive button again.

I use them sometimes for engine braking. I’d rather have paddle shifters than no way to shift at all. They’re not that easy to hit by mistake, and even if you do, the car won’t let you do anything that could mess it up.

I live in a mountainous area, and I use them every single time I leave the house.

I don’t live in the mountains, but I’m glad I have them when I visit one.

I use them for going down snowy hills so I don’t have to ride the brakes. Also super helpful when towing uphill and downhill.

If you hit them by mistake, just press D to go back to Drive. Thought I’d share, because the first time it happened to me, I shut the car off thinking that was the only way to fix it.

Oh wow, good to know. My last SUV had paddle shifters, and I accidentally pulled one… panicked and thought I broke something. My 10-year-old brain was like ‘this is it… the car is gonna explode’ lol. The ones in my Palisade aren’t easy to press, though, so I haven’t had an issue.

I only use them for engine braking when driving in snow.

Used them a few weeks ago while going downhill in snow.

I never use them, but I do look at them and laugh sometimes.

Not much on flat roads or uphill, but I use them a lot downhill.

What’s a hill? No, really… I live in Florida.
