Has anyone ever used Hyundai Roadside Assistance? Their new car packet mentions that all 2016 models come with 60 months of coverage.
I used Hyundai Roadside Assistance once when I needed a jump because I left the headlights on. I called Hyundai, and they said they would send someone. Within 5 minutes, I got a call from a local Hyundai contractor who said he was on his way. He arrived about 10 minutes later, jumped my car with a portable battery, and left. I didn’t need to sign any paperwork. Although I don’t remember the towing company’s name, the contractor’s truck had AAA decals, so it seems he contracts with both AAA and Hyundai. When I bought my 2013 GLS in 2012, it only came with 2 years of roadside assistance, so I rejoined AAA once the Hyundai coverage expired.
I used Hyundai Roadside Assistance when our Genesis wouldn’t start in the garage. They tried three different methods to get it going but couldn’t, so they towed it to our local dealer. It was the same contractor who came when we had a flat tire.

I’ve been a AAA member for many years and swear by their service. They really helped me out a few times with my old Chrysler Cirrus. Luckily, I haven’t needed their services for my Elantra. I have the Plus/RV plan with a 100-mile radius, and at $94 a year, it’s affordable insurance. With a bit of care and luck, you’ll get by.
I have the Plus plan too. Keep in mind that members are covered not just in their own cars but in any vehicle they’re in. - Ed
P.S. This includes jump starts and all the other services.
Just to add on that, I once also used Hyundai Roadside Assistance once with my 2013 Sonata SE 2.0T. I had a blowout on the right rear tire while driving at about 40 mph after hitting a small hard plastic piece on the road. The inside wall of the tire had a significant cut, about 2 inches long. I called Hyundai for help, and within about 20 minutes, a young man arrived in his own car with the tools needed to remove the damaged tire and replace it with the spare from my trunk.
Keep in mind that the service will only tow you to the nearest Hyundai dealer, which might not always be the best option. We’ve always had AAA because I prefer having the choice of where our car is towed, especially if we’re far from home.
I had a flat tire and used the service to change it to the spare in my driveway because my Hyundai jack broke while trying to lift the car.
I didn’t know Hyundai Roadside Assistance would come to your home to change a tire. What about jump starts or delivering gas in an emergency? That doesn’t sound too bad. I’m curious if they would change a flat tire on the roadside come to think of it, I’m not sure if AAA does that either. I’ve never needed emergency gas or a tire change, but I did once need a jump start far from home and had a door lock opened while shopping.
