Intermittent Electrical Fault in 2018 Hyundai i30—Anyone Experienced This?

Hi all

I’ve been dealing with an intermittent electrical issue in my 2018 Hyundai i30. The problem includes a loss of power steering, zero readings on the RPM and speedometer, and various warning lights (like ABS) coming on. These issues resolve after driving for about 10 minutes.

I took the car to a Hyundai service center, and it’s been there for two weeks now. They’ve checked numerous components, and it looks like the bill might reach £800 even if they don’t find the problem. They’ve mentioned that only a few connectors are left to inspect.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I’m starting to feel like I should have just kept the car home and tried to deal with the fault myself.

I am not an expert but I would advise you to consult a qualified mechanic for a thorough diagnosis.

It’s frustrating when your car has electrical issues. It’s tempting to DIY, but it’s often safer and more efficient to let professionals handle complex problems.

If the dealership is still unable to diagnose the issue after two weeks, consider getting a second opinion from another mechanic or an independent specialist.
