4 weeks in service and an expected 3 weeks to go. What good is a 100K 10 Year warranty if it takes MONTHS to get service. No loaner, no rental reimbursement just live without a car for months till it gets finished. We have a 23 Santa Cruz with just over 13K miles and the dual clutch transmission failed. took a week and a half just to get the diagnostics done. Another week for Hyundia to approve the repair. Was told a week for the new transmission to arrive and week or more to install. Such a bad business model.
It’s not the business model itself. It’s the dealership model and their backlogged service departments. I’m sorry for your situation.

Then it is a US wide dealershipS issue as they all are like this in the US.

Yes. The dealership model (for every manufacturer) is garbage.
Hi! If you haven’t, please contact Hyundai corporate when you can. You should be able to receive an reimbursement for the matter, most dealers run out of loaner cars. Reach out to corporate when you can to establish your case.

A case was opened and two days later was grilled for personal information. I am working on gathering that information for them. They want the original purchase contract which I have to find.
Why the hell are they putting DCTs in cars meant for soccer practice commutes?

Seriously, most people do not come to complete stops and treat a DCT poorly - these folks need a CVT or automatic

A standard 8spd is going back in soon.

I thought it was weird as well but there is not an option to get the larger motor and not get the DCT.
The sad thing is that new transmission will have the same reliability.

I hope not. We are already starting to look at other brands as soon as we get it back from service we might get rid of it. Then I will warn anyone who will listen to avoid the brand.

it was a known software issue, don’t make silly factually incorrect statements.

why would a software issue require a new transmission?
We bought ours new in mid July 2024, the first week of August it went into the shop due to transmission issue. We have been told mid November is when we will get it back at the earliest.
Even with that said though I can not wait to get my 24 santa fe calligraphy back as I’m still totally obcessed and in love with the car. Just wish I wasn’t gone for so long.

I mean I can be upset with it but I have it for another 3 years so why not just look at the positives and enjoy it while I have to? Everything else about it is great.

We do like the concept of our vehicle. But a car is a needed tool to allow you to work, get food, go to medical appts, visit family. Paying the car payment and insurance to have an empty driveway is just not realistic. So, no matter how cool the car is, how many features it has, if it is not reliable then it is a polished turd.
Yes, cars break, I get that. Months to repair with zero consideration to the own about this loss of a needed tool is an issue. Hyundia getting away with this should be addressed by our government.
