We parked our new 2024 Santa Fe downtown for our first baby-free date, and when we came back, it was damaged. Looks like random vandalism—we found a metal pipe about twenty feet away from the car. Insurance will cover it, but it’s still really frustrating 
. I just bought it in June.
People can be awful. I’m really sorry this happened to you.

We didn’t see any, but it was dark and raining. Might call around to check. Will it matter if we find the person?
Police didn’t seem interested, but we only thought it was the windshield at first. Didn’t notice the body damage until the next day.
Ouch! Sorry to see this. Hope karma catches up to them, and insurance covers it.
A dash cam with a battery might help (so it doesn’t drain the car battery). Sorry this happened to you.

Ugh, that’s rough. I’m about to get a new car myself, and we’ve had the worst luck with them. Brand new CR-V battery died on the first trip, and then got hit on the highway. New Prius got scraped while parked. It’s stressful with new cars, for sure.

It’ll take at least a week for the windshield. Haven’t started the rest of the repairs yet. Appraiser is coming Monday. Fingers crossed
