Squeaking Noise After Accelerating from a Complete Stop (2012 Hyundai Accent GLS)

I recently purchased a 2012 Hyundai Accent GLS just two days ago with approximately 38,000 miles on it. It’s an automatic and I’m quite pleased with its performance so far. During my highway drive home, I consistently averaged about 44 mpg, and even in town, it maintains impressive fuel economy. Overall, the car seems great.

However, last night while driving, I noticed a peculiar issue. When I come to a stop at a stop sign or red light and then accelerate, I hear a strange squeaking or creaking noise. It doesn’t happen every time I accelerate, but when it does, it lasts for about 3 seconds before stopping. I’ve also observed it occasionally when making turns followed by acceleration—it’s just a brief squeak.

Should I be concerned about this? The noise occurred even after the engine had warmed up, so it doesn’t seem related to cold starts.

Have you looked beneath the right pedal for mice?

Not a single mouse though I could experiment by leaving some cheese out.
