What does this mean?

It’s a dashboard. It gives info about the current status of the car.

Or it could be autohold or cruise control. Also, the person who posted is actually female.

We can’t be sure it’s a woman.

I don’t like this response at all.

Why not? You can’t always tell these days.

In my opinion, if they have a common female name, I assume they are a woman. And if they ask a simple car question with that name, I’m pretty sure it’s a woman. =]

People should be careful asking about the D. Some folks don’t like those questions.

From top to bottom, left to right:

  1. Your lights are on.

  2. Your car has 144,721 miles.

  3. Cruise control is on but not active, or there’s an issue.

  4. It’s been 37 minutes since something happened.

  5. Your car is holding still for you.

  6. The car is in drive.

  7. You are not moving.

  8. Cruise control is on.

You explained that well.

About #1:

Sometimes this means the tail and marker lights (called ‘parking lights’) are on, but not the headlamps. Some cars might still have daytime running lights on.

Headlamps usually have a symbol with downward beams. High beams are shown with a blue symbol and horizontal beams.

This might not apply to your car, though. The best way to know for sure is by checking the manual. Many drivers think they have their headlights on but are just running on parking lights due to bright digital dashboards or daytime lights.

Not every car has a dashboard light for regular headlamps, just for parking lights and high beams. You have to double-check your light switch to be sure.

If you’re talking about the warning symbol, it’s probably a problem with the smart cruise system.

I think they’re asking about the elapsed time. That’s how long you’ve been driving.

That’s what time passing is all about. It’s interesting when you stop and think about it, right?

Is that you, Kamala?

@NexoNomad
I get those red lights whenever my cruise control is on in my Genesis. There’s something wrong with it, so I just don’t use it anymore.

@NexoNomad
If you’re talking about the ‘elapsed time,’ that’s for people who think their Hyundai is a race car and want to time how fast they go from 0-60.

Who doesn’t time their 0-60 one minute at a time?

@NexoNomad
This same thing gets posted every single day :roll_eyes:
