What is this part hanging underneath my 2013 Hyundai Elantra?

Hello people…I need some help identifying a part on my 2013 Hyundai Elantra. There’s something hanging underneath the car, and I have no idea what it is or its purpose. I recently had an oil change, and although the techs noticed it hanging, they didn’t mention what it was or if it needed to be fixed.

It’s called the front under cover.

You can reattach it a few different ways. If you use screws or bolts instead of those plastic push pins, just know that if it gets caught on something, it’ll probably tear apart rather than just fall off. Honestly, those things are poorly designed on most cars. I had the same issue with my Honda Odyssey because of a bad design that caused it to snag on almost anything I parked in front of. I ended up going under the car and smoothing it out as much as possible so it wouldn’t catch on stuff anymore, then I bolted it in place instead of using the plastic pins. Haven’t had any problems with it since.

Go to any auto parts store and ask them for some Christmas tree push pins…it’s sold has assorted pack with different size…crawl under your car match the holes up and push the right plastic pin in…

What is your total mileage on that bad boy? My 2013 accent is over 220k.

Looks like it’s just a skid plate, and the bolts are probably missing. You can probably get it fixed easily at the dealer, maybe even for free. Or, you could just grab the bolts online and fix it yourself.

Looks like a heat guard or a water guard. Resembles the heat shield on my 13 vt.
