Why are they pushing the SEL Premium trim on me?

I’ve been checking out the 2024 limited trim with white exterior and beige interior, but twice now at different dealerships, they suggested the SEL Premium trim instead. Any idea why they’re pushing this? Is it a better option for the dealer? I’m open to it, just curious why they would recommend a lower trim.

The SEL Premium is the best value for the money in 2024 at least.

There’s a YouTube channel @CarConfection that explains that many of the features which were only available on the Limited trim in 2023 have been added to the new SEL Premium trim for 2024. I’m not sure about the specifics, but you can watch their overview of the 2024 model for more details.

@Terryanne
Thanks for the info .

I upgraded from a 2022 SEL to a 2025 SEL Premium and all I can say is WOW. It’s totally worth it.

I have a 2022 SEL with convenience and premium packages, and I really enjoy it. Just curious, what upgrades did you get with the 2025? I haven’t looked into it yet .

I just bought one. It’s great, but I do have some regrets about the color. I wanted red, but got silver. Then a week later, I see a red one.

Get the Calligraphy trim. You won’t regret it.

My wife kept asking why we went with the Calligraphy model due to the price increase, but I drive it a lot more than she does (I clocked 38k miles in one year). I’m so glad we did it, especially because of the heads-up display. It’s a game-changer.

I love the Calligraphy trim but I have small kids, and I’m worried about the suede getting ruined.

I got the 2025 Calligraphy Night edition a week ago, and I absolutely love it. I look forward to driving it every chance I get.

There are plenty of car reviews out there, but some aren’t from people with much experience.

If you’re considering, here’s a comparison of the features: 2024 Hyundai Palisade Brochure

You can probably get a better discount on the Limited trim compared to the SEL Premium. I was going to get the SEL Premium, but when I saw the Limited for $2k more after discounts, I went for it. I love it – real leather, ventilated seats, customizable ambient lighting, heads-up display, and a double sunroof.

The Limited trim is definitely the way to go.

I just got a 2025 Limited, and driving it feels like a $100k SUV. The SEL Premium feels more like a $45-50k SUV, you can definitely notice the difference.

@barabra
Which one feels cheaper? I’m deciding between the 2025 SEL base and the 2024 SEL Premium (the price difference is around $4k), but the lease payments are pretty close. I’m not sure if I’m getting a good deal on the 2025 base. Any thoughts?

I’m looking at two options: the 2025 SEL base for $40,345 or the 2024 SEL Premium for $44,349. The 2025 SEL base includes a $2k trade-in value, and I’m putting $2k down, with payments of $410. The 2024 SEL Premium would cost $424 with $4k down. The dealership for the 2024 is out of state, so it’s a bit tricky. The payments seem close, but the price difference is pretty big. Should I go with the 2025 SEL base or the 2024 SEL Premium? What deal would you recommend?

@Kelvin
The SEL Premium has a lot more features than the base model. Definitely go for the Premium!

The dealer is probably trying to sell what they have in stock and what’s less in demand, which might be why they’re pushing the SEL Premium. I’m personally looking for the SEL Premium with the bench seat. If the Limited had that option, I would have bought it for sure.
