Hey everyone! I just bought a 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz, and it has about 8,500 miles on it. The engine light came on yesterday, but it’s not flashing. I noticed that when I stop at a stop sign or try to accelerate, especially going uphill, the car feels like it’s stuck in first gear. I haven’t done any services since getting it last Thursday. Anyone have any insights?
Sounds like it could be a transmission issue. Have you scanned for any fault codes yet? If not, many local parts stores do it for free!
Yeah, definitely get those codes checked. They can tell you a lot about what’s going on. Hope it’s not a big issue!
I had a similar issue with my Santa Cruz. Turned out to be a problem with the shift solenoids. Just something to consider!
If you get any codes like P0741 or P0731, it might mean the transmission could need some serious work. Just a heads up!
Let us know what the codes say! Hoping it’s an easy fix for you.
