I got my 2024 Elantra a few months ago, and since the beginning, there has been this strange buzzing noise I think is coming from the back of the car. It’s not very loud, and when I try recording it, you can’t hear it at all. I turned the car off and on, and the noise went away for a minute but then came back. Has anyone experienced this? What could it be?
Do you have a key in the 2024 Elantra?

That’s definitely not a 2024 model. Elantras without smart keys ended in 2021.

Oh, really? I didn’t know that. My parents leased it for me and said it was a 2024. I’m not too familiar with cars.
@Victor
That’s odd. The newer Elantras all come with push-button start. As for the rattling noise, it sounds normal to me.

My car has the basic features, nothing special. No sunroof or automatic start. Thanks for the info! You can’t really hear it in the video, but I think it’s fine.
@Victor
It’s probably the Essential trim (Canada) or SE (USA). One tip, if it snows where you are, I’d recommend getting a remote starter. It’s a lifesaver when the car’s cold and covered in snow.

Thanks for the tip! It doesn’t snow much where I live, but it gets cold. A remote start would be great, but I think it’s too expensive for me. I’ll look into it though, my parents couldn’t afford it.

That’s not true. The 2023 Elantra still has a key start.

The 2024 Elantra SE still has a manual key.
@JakeHyundaiJourney
Yes, that’s what I have.
@JakeHyundaiJourney
Ah, I’m from Canada, so all of ours have smart keys.

Here in Canada, the base trim still uses a key.

I have a 2024 model and don’t have a key.

What model do you have? I have the SE, and I think the N Line doesn’t have a key.
Try turning on the welcome chime. It won’t fix the noise, but I like it.

It’s a nice little jingle that plays every time you unlock or turn off the car. You should find it in your sound settings. It’s not annoying because you only hear it now and then, and it’s pretty short.
@Tylor
Thanks! I didn’t know that was a feature.
