Do folks still purchase Hyundai or Kia products?
Clearly they do. Please enlighten us on your superior knowledge of the auto industry. I have experienced many brands, and they all have their own issues. Hyundai is on par with them all because only a few suppliers make the common parts that end up failing. Get ready for more disappointment with anything engineered today. Stuff isn’t designed to last long; it needs to last enough to cover warranty periods.

Find me one single reputable mechanic who doesn’t have an affiliation with Hyundai who recommends their products in terms of quality and dependability. I’ll wait.

The worst dealer service in town is the Toyota dealer, second worst is the Chevy dealer. They are franchises that make choices, and some choose to be better than others. It has little to do with the brand.

Agreed, but we’re discussing product quality and dependability, which is entirely different from service.
Bahahaa you think another manufacturer hasn’t had display failures? Check out the glitchy Maverick infotainments. Although on those, a hard reset of the infotainment straightens them out until they do it again. The components likely all come from the same factory; just a different shade of lipstick. My degree is in electronics. You would be surprised at the number of mechanical car components for different brands that come from the same factory.

Everyone has their preferences. That’s what makes the world go round. As Toyota rolls out more GDI engines, they too shall have a rocky learning experience. Don’t believe me? Do a little research on their current GDI offerings; it’s not going well.
