2025 Sabre Fe Calligraphy Hybrid Died

Did the posters with similar occurrences on Facebook say what the ultimate problem was?

Undiagnosed, but same situation. Suddenly losing power while driving. Some seem to regain power once pulling to the side and turning off the engine. Then seems fine again for some time, only for it to occur again. Others seem similar to my situation where the vehicle completely dies after trickling off battery and gets towed.

@klausmark3
Good luck. Let us know if you get a diagnosis.

Following.

I’m more or less set on getting my wife a Santa Fe Hybrid Limited in the spring when her lease is up. For her new job, she’ll be driving a lot so concerned about something like this happening. If I wanted a car that could break down without warning, I would have kept my 7-year-old BMW…

My uncle has a 2022 Tucson Hybrid that he’s put a ton of mileage on and as far as I know, it’s been trouble-free…

My friend has a Chevy truck that had the same issue last week. Scary, but I think it has to do with the amount of tech in these cars and if the computers crap out, we are screwed.

That’s my exact feeling too. These cars are getting too techy and glitchy. More tech, more problems, it seems.

This happened to me in my regular SEL. It’s still in the shop for now, 35 days. Hopefully, you get yours back quickly. Unfortunately, my experience with Hyundai and the dealership has made me want to drop Hyundai after 13 years. So sad. I loved my Santa Fe.

Lemon Law attorney here… good news is that the lemon law provides protection to consumers who are faced with unfortunate circumstances like you’re in. If your car has been repaired two or more times for this substantial safety issue, you can seek a refund or replacement car under the lemon law.

Those YouTube car reviewers lie. I think they get paid to give good car reviews. Went for a test drive 2 days back on the Santa Fe Calligraphy Hybrid, felt like a small engine was being forced to pull a heavy body, and the hybrid system wasn’t so impressive. Came back disappointed.

I’ve been interested in this model from the day one it was revealed…but was skeptical to pull the trigger because of Hyundai’s reputation and unreliability (I drive a Lexus currently). This proves the fate of this vehicle… many will argue this is one lemon car…but to me it feels like more lemons are being revealed in this model… I will stay away from this.

@VIOLAHZ
Better stay away from Lexus then…

I somewhat agree, but it seems like most car manufacturers are having trouble with all their new models, not just Hyundai. My dad has the 25 Calligraphy at 5k and has had no issues, and his previous 20 Santa Fe was at 80k with zero issues as well. I blame cost-cutting efforts. IMO I believe what’s available in these models, for the price, is too hard to pass up, and I’d rather not have to drop another $10-15k in a Toyota just to get more than seat warmers.

@VIOLAHZ
I have a 2024 Calligraphy non-hybrid. 5k miles on it since August and no issues.

I think a lot of the transmission issues/complaints are from people not knowing how DCTs work and how to drive them etc. Obviously there were legit issues too, but the major problem seems to be fixed with the software updates.

If you think this is bad you should do a dive on the Focus RS. Endless posts on forums/subreddits about the engines blowing on Ford’s amazing new hot hatch when it was released.

The final # of cars with issues? Like 30.

The amount of posts you see here or on social media vs what actually happens is wildly different.

@Dylan
How do you drive a DCT?
