"Picked up this beauty on Thursday, and I’m loving it so far! I need to get a few essentials—winter floor mats and tires are a must here in Ontario. I’m also on the lookout for cool gadgets or accessories to make it even better.
I’ve got toddlers with two car seats in the middle row, so I could really use something to help keep things organized and tidy back there.
What are some of the coolest things you’ve bought for your new Santa Fe? Open to any tips or ideas!"
I bought used winter tires and rims from a Palisade. If you buy new winter tires, also shop the Palisade size; there seems to be more selection and better pricing.
I bought; leasing is a waste of money. I keep my vehicles 10+ years and had just sold a couple properties when I took delivery of the vehicle, so I paid cash and skipped the 6.9% or whatever financing was at the time.

It’s a waste of money if you can afford to buy, sure; not everyone has 50k liquid.
Leasing still isn’t financially advantageous versus buying with financing, unless it’s one of those EV lease deals where you can lease for like $250/month.
@Lucas
A) It’s a much higher monthly cost many can’t afford. Sure, you shouldn’t negotiate the monthly payment on a lease, but that’s the most important number to me. B) With the interest on the financing, I’m paying more like 65k for a 50k car. At least 5 years on a lease will cost me about 35k.
Anyways, enjoy your new SF; I’m just looking to see people’s negotiation results in Ontario.
@Johnstone1
If someone can’t afford the payments, they can’t afford a new car. That’s financial literacy 101. Many people overspend on vehicles that are a depreciating asset. At the end of the lease, you don’t own the vehicle and you’re then financing a less than ideal residual value of the lease or back to square one of leasing another vehicle you don’t own.
That’s strange because some (all?) car seats say to use a rolled-up towel to level the seat base if needed. So if a rolled towel is fine, why not a thin seat cover?
Both our Graco seats (4Ever and Extend2Fit) say it is fine to use a ‘thin towel or mat to protect your vehicle seats.’ I believe our UppaBaby Mesa V2 baby/infant seat said the same, including the rolled towel, and UppaBaby is pretty top dollar.
Even Nuna says to use a rolled-up towel or pool noodle to adjust the seat incline. And only says to not use a cover, padding, fabric, or their soft materials with the child restraints. But that’s within the seat itself, not between the vehicle seat and child car seat. I see nothing in the manual that says to not use a seat cover, mat, etc. If the seat is going to slip off something, it’s going to be a pool noodle. With the seat properly secured and tightened down, ensuring the side-to-side play is within spec, there should be no issue.
Now, if a particular seat says to not use a cover, that’s a different story. But all three of my seats say it’s fine. The Nuna you suggested says nothing about it. Unless I completely missed it in the manual.
I have copied exact quotes from two different manuals and read through the very manual of the boujie seat you recommended. I think what you’ve done is listen to some parenting group that believes they know better than multinational safety standards along with lawyers for all these car seat manufacturers that have approved the wording and direction in their manuals for liability.
Your CPST comment is disgusting, and you should be ashamed.
Maybe instead of spreading baseless misinformation, you actually quote a manual that says not to use a seat cover. So far you’ve just spewed unsubstantiated hearsay.
So you have formed an opinion thinking you are entitled to do so because it is your job, which deviates from what is clearly identified in multiple manuals. Got it. You can move along and stop spreading your opinionated misinformation; after all, opinions are like assholes.
You work with car seats for your job? What job is that? Does that job require you to troll Reddit with dumb lies about how you’re the car seat protection Nazi? You’re just making shit up, pulling it right out of your butt. The other person has actually looked at multiple manufacturers’ manuals, and they’re all very consistently saying the same thing, which is to use a mat or towel for protection of the seat and to help you level the seat. Why is that confusing? Lame.
