The vehicle requires 0W-30 oil, and the manufacturer recommends Quaker State. I haven’t found any Quaker State synthetic 0W-30, but Mobil1 is available. Does anyone know what the dealers are using? I’m trying to determine if I should provide the oil for the first change, which is a bit troublesome since it takes 6.6 quarts. The car has 2500 miles so far and will have between 4000 and 5000 miles at the time of the change. I don’t want to leave it up to the shop, which might decide to use 5W-30 instead. I guess I’ll drop in on them soon, check the containers they have, and decide if I can trust them. Otherwise, I’ll just bring in Mobil1.
The majority of dealers use 5w20 or 0w20 in quantity. Use your own oil, please. One afe or esp 0w30 mobil.
Fram 0W30 is used by my dealer in quart containers.
Using the right oil for your Hyundai is crucial. While Mobil 1 is a good choice, I’d double-check if it meets the exact specifications required by your car’s manual.
Some manufacturers have specific requirements beyond just the viscosity (like 0W-30).
As for the dealer, it’s always a good idea to be proactive. You can ask them directly what oil they use and if they can confirm it meets your car’s specifications.
Bringing your own oil can be a hassle, but it gives you peace of mind. If you decide to let them use their oil, make sure to clarify the type and viscosity before you leave the car.
