After almost 4 months in the shop, I finally got my new Santa Fe Calligraphy back and I absolutely love it… but why did it take so long?

It was quite a journey with my new Santa Fe. I had it in the shop for nearly 4 months, but now that it’s back, I’m absolutely in love with it. I’m curious to know if anyone else has had a similar experience with delays at the dealership? Is this normal for Hyundai?

Looks great! I noticed you swapped the wheels and added winter tires. Does it feel different compared to the original setup? Are those Hyundai-branded red caliper covers? I can’t find them online. Could you share where you got them from?

@Terryanne
Sure! They are MGP caliper covers. The ride feels pretty much the same, even with the winter wheels on.

What winter tires did you go with?

@Terryanne
$3600

@Terryanne
I went with the 245/60 18” Continental Viking Contact 7 tires.

Where did you get your rims and tires? I’m in Ontario too, and I’ll need to get some for my car when it arrives.

@Terryanne
I bought them from the Hyundai dealership. :slight_smile:

How much did they charge you? Which city?

Welcome home .

Thanks! I was one of the unlucky ones with a transmission failure at 1100km and the doors wouldn’t lock.

Yeah, mine was at the dealership for two and a half months, but at least my doors locked!

I hope they paid your car payment for those 4 months. That’s ridiculous.

We fought for that but it was a hard no from them.

I’m having transmission issues with my Mazda CX-90. They’re buying it back and covering all the depreciation. You could have definitely qualified for a lemon law claim with a 4-month repair time. Just saying, create more noise if you can.

We don’t have lemon laws here in Ontario. We tried everything, but they just kept saying the vehicle was fixed and gave us a loaner car while we waited.

What issues kept the Santa Fe in the shop for so long?

Well, we noticed the doors wouldn’t lock when we got it home, which was a surprise. Then, two days later, the transmission failed. Out of 126 days, we only had the car for 15.

@lizbeth
Wow :scream: that’s been a rough experience with a brand-new Hyundai. I’ve been considering the new Santa Fe, but after reading so many reports of issues, I’m not sure I want to go with Hyundai again. I’m glad you got yours back though. Wishing you many trouble-free years ahead!

@Gia
Sorry, what issues are you referring to?
