I just got my 2024 Sonata N Line and was wondering if anyone here has done any customizations to theirs. I looked around but haven’t found much. What cool mods have you done or seen? Also, excuse the dirty Elantra in the background of my pic
First thing I did when I got mine was get the windows tinted. I came from driving a Challenger, so I wasn’t used to sitting in a car without any tint and that ‘fishbowl’ feeling. I went with 15% all around, including a windshield strip.
Also, I decided to get a partial PPF (Hood, Bumper, Fenders, Mirrors) and a ceramic coating to protect the matte finish. You might not need PPF since your paint isn’t matte, but it could be worth it if you’re planning to keep the car for a while.
Looking at new tires and wheels next year, thinking of going for Enkei PX-10s wrapped in Continental DWS 06s. The stock tires aren’t great and you might notice a bit of wheelspin, especially when trying to launch. After that, maybe lowering springs or coil-overs if they’re available.
As more time goes on, we’ll definitely see more custom options for this car. Check out KDM Holic for body mods and SXTH Element for performance upgrades.

Tint is high on my list too, especially since I sunburn really easily. Definitely needed for longer drives. About those rims, what tires do you recommend? I’m already noticing a bit of tire spin and I’m guessing that’s not great for the DCT?
@MarkJones
I’d go for the Continental DWS 06. They’re ultra-high performance and all-season, perfect for any weather conditions. I live in Pennsylvania, so I’ve gotta be ready for anything and these are solid. I actually tested them at Continental’s track in Texas and they were incredible!
And yeah, tire spin isn’t ideal. Since your car has a DCT, you might want to use the Auto Hold feature (right under the Drive Mode button) when you’re stopped at a light. It helps prevent creeping forward and saves your transmission some wear.
@ElantraLOVEr3
Those tires got my 600 HP Camaro through some serious snowstorms last winter, no problem.
@ElantraLOVEr3
I’ve got the DWS 06s on my Mazda 6 and they perform great, rain or shine (I’m in Florida).
@MarkJones
To be honest, nothing beats having proper seasonal tires. Even the cheaper summer/winter sets outperform all-seasons when used in their correct temperature range.
If you can swing it, Michelin and Continental have some awesome options for seasonal tires. The Pilot Sport 4S is a standout, way better than the Pilot Sport All Season, which has pretty stiff sidewalls. From Continental, their DWS is solid, as I mentioned before.
If you’re looking for something more budget-friendly, try the Kumho Ecsta PS31. They’re softer for a UHP summer tire, but I loved them on my Fiesta ST. More comfortable and better grip than the Michelin AS3+ I had before. Great for the price .
Shoutout to Visalia! Who sold you the car?

I honestly can’t remember his name, but he was a super chill guy who just moved here from Florida. Visalia Hyundai has been good to me. My credit was in bad shape when I got my Elantra, but over time it got better and they made it easy to upgrade to the Sonata for almost the same price.
@MarkJones
Nice! Just asked because I’ve got a friend who works there, but sounds like it wasn’t him, haha.

I’m terrible with names, but I always remember faces. Next time I’ll probably recognize him right away .
I wish Hyundai would make a Sonata N already.

What’s the difference between the N Line and an N?

N Line is more of a sporty trim, but the N is a full performance model with a stronger engine and suspension. It’s a big jump from the N Line.
@HyundaiEnthusiast88
Gotcha, makes sense. I’m still learning all the details about these cars, haha.
Honestly, the Sonata is probably Hyundai’s best-looking car right now.

I loved the way my 2023 Elantra looked, especially in Portofino Grey, so getting that same color on the Sonata was a huge win for me. One day I’ll probably upgrade to the Ioniq 6, but I’m not ready to go fully electric just yet.
I haven’t seen it done yet, but I think repainting the N Line wheels black and painting the brake calipers would look really cool.

I’ve been thinking about the brake calipers too! Red would look awesome, especially with the N logo on them. I’ve seen some designs with that and it looks sick, but I’m not sure where to find those.
