Puerto Rico?
Wheel locks only add a few seconds to the theft. My friend lost his key, and we were able to break them off in seconds with $20 worth of tools.

It’s mainly to stop opportunistic thieves. A few extra seconds might make them move on.
@Amelia
Yeah, I had my wheels saved by locks once. The thieves got all the lug nuts off except for the lock.

I had unusual spline nuts on a rim once. You had to bring the ‘key’ for any shop work. Those would probably work as a deterrent.

Nah, just buy better locks.
They didn’t even put it on blocks? Now you’ll need new brakes too.

They did put it on blocks, but they damaged the undercarriage. I watched them on security footage slam it down on the rotors too.
I guess they didn’t have a USB cable, so they took the tires instead!
Advanced wheel locks, hands down. About $100 and they’re unique to you. Zero reports of them being broken.

Agreed.

I got Advanced locks for $140. They’re not unique anymore but still way better than the cheap ones on Amazon.
@esleystanley
They were unique when I got them four years ago.

Looks like they’ve changed since then, but they’re still better than anything else.
Don’t worry about wheel locks… you’ll need some new tires first!
Hyundai has their own wheel locks, but any determined thief with a removal kit from Harbor Freight will still get them off.
