Does anyone know what this symbol means on Hyundai's audio screen?

We just bought a 2024 Kona, and I noticed a symbol when playing Spotify. It’s always there when the album art shows up, and the colors change. I’ve never seen this on other cars before. Any ideas what it could be?

That’s the SoundHound button. It’s like Shazam, used to identify music that’s playing around you.

It works for identifying songs on FM radio.

I was wondering why you’d need to identify a song when the info is already on the screen! So, I did a bit of digging. Turns out, SoundHound is moving into AI and personal assistant stuff now. Hyundai actually partnered with them to make their own Siri-like feature, and that’s what the button is for.

I use it like Shazam. If there’s a song playing on the radio and you don’t know what it is, hit the button, and it’ll tell you.

Wait, it’s a button? Haha, thanks for clearing that up!

@Mia
If you’re in Canada, it won’t work. The software is installed, but it’s not active there. Just FYI.

I’m in the US, but even here, it doesn’t work as a button for me either. No big deal, though—I only use my own playlists anyway.

@Mia
You might need a radio software update. It should work in the US.

That’s the Shazam logo.

Nope, it’s the SoundHound logo. Same concept as Shazam, but a different company.

Looks like someone tried drawing it from memory, haha.

Definitely not Shazam.

It’s the SoundHound button. Press it to identify the song that’s playing, just like Shazam.

That’s a hurricane warning sign.

Nice to see someone listening to Supermodel by Foster the People! That’s their best album in my opinion. I wish they’d stuck with that progressive rock sound.

Totally agree, that was their golden era.

Wow… I haven’t seen that logo in over a decade, but I recognized it immediately!

I thought it was a hurricane warning too!

That means your penis is about to fall off.
