Hey guys
I bought a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe, and within just 30 days, it needs a new transmission. I know recalls can happen, but Hyundai hasn’t mentioned anything about a recall involving the transmission or its software to me. What’s really frustrating is the awful customer service I’ve been dealing with from the Service Department all the way up to Consumer Affairs.
They don’t have any loaner cars available and claim they’ll “reimburse” me for my rental car. However, I have to pay for the rental up front and keep making car payments until they “review the case and make a recommendation.” There’s no ETA on the new transmission, and we’re already over 40 days with the car out of service. I had to chase down a Service Advisor for a response, and after three weeks, I got a text from the Service Manager instead of a proper update.
Is this how Hyundai does business now, or have they always been this unresponsive? I’m new to the brand and just want them to buy this lemon back so I can move on to something more reliable where customer service matters. This situation is becoming a real hardship. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
