Genesis Coupe – Is It Worth the Hype?

Hey all, I’m considering buying a used Genesis Coupe and wanted to get some opinions from those who’ve owned or driven one. I’ve heard mixed reviews, particularly about the handling and overall performance.

How does it hold up in terms of reliability and driving experience? Also, for those who’ve had it for a while, how’s the maintenance been? I’m looking at both the 2.0T and the 3.8, so any insights on which one to go for would be super helpful. Appreciate any advice or personal experiences you can share.

On paper, the car appears to have decent stats, is not too ugly from an aesthetic perspective, and is rather easy to adjust. However, other people’s internet evaluations claim it’s not very excellent, particularly when it comes to the transmission.

Owned my 2.0T R-Spec since new in 2013. It’s my daily driver. I’ve kept it pretty much stock, with the exception of wider aftermarket wheels/tires to make them flush. I had an ECU with a canned tune for a little while but now I’m back to stock. It’s a good car, and it’s fun to have something that’s rarely seen on the road where I live. I’m looking forward to trading up to the Genesis G70 in a few years

Yes, the Genesis has a very high rating.

My friends really swear by it, they almost had me buying this car. Maybe it’s time to go for a road test and see for myself coz honestly, I already have a quote for this car.

As much as the genesis coupe is one car which has gathered more attention, it still has its pros and cons which need to be considered before making a decision. Proper research will give a way forward

Not my taste. It is the automatic trans. It is a manual transmission. The quality of the interior is insane. Not to mention, they’re boring. Despite having less power, the 86/brz is still more fun to drive and has far superior interior construction.
