I’m meeting with the dealer about it tomorrow. Does anyone know what it means? I’m just trying to get a clearer understanding.
Could be the shutter actuator, could be position sensor, could’ve just had ice in it.

Code ended up clearing itself, I still will be taking it in with the scan results.

This … especially as it’s fixed itself.
Probably a sensor. The only time you gotta be actually worried is if that light is blinking.
The front of the vehicle has air flaps that open and close as needed. Don’t try to move them yourself as it might break the servo motor. Check if something is jammed in the flaps.
Same notification popped up on my Tucson. It’s a sensor. Dealership replaced it quickly. It was covered under warranty.
It’s most likely an active air flap that they will replace or something stuck in it which you will pay. Or a wiring problem. That could be rodents. I’ve seen all 4. Still a 50/50 shot it’s warranty.
Activates Warp Drive.
A sensor tripped on the air flaps located inside the grille. As long as the notification went away, you should be fine.
As a pilot, my mind immediately went to, “well put your flaps up after landing then” lol.
Looks like a dashboard!
- from google ai
- An active air flap system is a vehicle component that controls the airflow across a radiator grille to improve fuel economy, energy efficiency, and aerodynamic performance:
- How it works An electronically controlled flap opens and closes to regulate airflow across the radiator grille. The flap can be opened or closed regardless of the vehicle’s condition, such as while driving or parked.
- Benefits The active air flap system can:
- Improve fuel economy: The flap closes to reduce unnecessary airflow, which improves fuel economy.
- Improve aerodynamic performance: The flap closes to improve aerodynamic performance.
- Cool vehicle parts: The flap opens to cool vehicle parts.
- Troubleshooting If the “Check Active Air Flap system” message appears on the display, you can try these steps:
- Stop the vehicle in a safe place.
- Check the status of the air flap.
- Remove any foreign matter that may be stuck in the flap.
- Wait 10 minutes.
- Start the vehicle.
- If the message remains, contact an authorized dealer.
sounds like pop the hood and look around the radiator if a branch or something is stuck in the intake.
@Arthur
Yeah I looked at it and the flaps move just fine. Like others suggested maybe a sensor.
What’s your manual say it is?

The manual doesn’t just have a list of what every DTC means, that’s why I have a scanner. The dealer will likely know more, but I’m just seeing if anyone here might know a bit otherwise.
