Hey everyone, my 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is acting up with the smart key. I replaced the remote battery and disconnected the main battery, but it still doesn’t detect the key when I take it out of range. It does make a beep sound though when I walk away. Any ideas on what to do next?
Same thing happened to me last year. Did you check the fuses labeled smart key?

Yeah, I checked all the fuses and they look good. Not sure what’s next.

I ended up replacing the smart key control module. It worked for me.
IDK, but maybe the key module needs replacing? Just a thought.

What do you mean by key module? Not sure I’m following.

The part that communicates with your key. If it’s faulty, it might not detect the key properly.
Have you tried resetting the smart key system? Sometimes it helps.
Lmao, tech issues are the worst. Hope you get it fixed soon.
Does the dashboard show any warning lights when this happens?

Yeah, there’s a yellow vehicle light with the key symbol on. Also, the main screen says key not in vehicle.
