How to avoid dash warnings when driving in snow/slush?

I recently bought a 2025 Limited, and we had our first snow and sleet two days ago. My dashboard lit up with all sorts of warnings—driver assistance issues, speed sensors blocked, and more. I’m pretty sure it was due to slush and ice building up on the cameras and front sensors, but I couldn’t find a way to turn anything off to stop the constant flashing and alerts.

The next day, everything was back to normal, so I’m assuming it was the slush. The problem is, I’m facing four months of driving in these conditions. When I asked the dealership, they said it’s normal and suggested either stopping to clean off the ice or just ignoring the warnings. That seems both unbelievable and unacceptable.

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you handle it? Otherwise, I’ve really enjoyed the car so far, especially the driver assistance features—when they’re working properly.

For me, it was parking sensors and the radar. You should be able to disable parking sensors with a button on the center console.

The radar is a little trickier. Even if you disable most of what uses it, I think it will still show a warning. But you can try. It should be under settings, vehicle, driver assistance.

It would be a nice update if putting it in snow drive mode would disable some of that stuff.

Had the exact same thing happen to me. Would love to know this myself.

Yeah, that’s some major BS. Report it to Hyundai, direct. There is a customer feedback form on https://owners.hyundaiusa.com

If you look at threads for almost every make of vehicle on Reddit, you’ll see this exact question. It’s a common issue with lots of makes and models as slush blocks the sensors or cameras.

Yo, I’ve got a 2014, so my dash is super basic compared to yours—none of those fancy driver-assist warnings. :joy: But I’d guess the dealership’s right about the slush messing with your sensors. Maybe try spraying some Rain-X or another hydrophobic coating on the cameras and sensors to keep the ice and slush from sticking? Or just keep a microfiber cloth handy to wipe ‘em off when you stop. Annoying, but might save you from all those flashing warnings!

Probably can’t, safety features.

I was wondering why I got that warning. I certainly don’t want to shut anything off and everything still seemed to work, so I guess I will ignore it!

I wonder if there’s a coating you can apply to the front grill to help slush and snow not stick as easily? I wonder if cooking spray would work? I will be getting into the slush and snow any day as well.

I contacted Hyundai USA via X and they gave me a default answer. So I guess I’ll be enjoying those warnings all winter

Slush/ice buildup on the front radar sensor.
