Gotta subscribe for remote start unfortunately.
I think you may have someone else’s fob.
If I recall correctly, there’s an app and you have to subscribe to the package that allows remote start. There wouldn’t be a button on the key fob for remote start.
You have to use the app.
On my 2021 Sonata SEL, if I press the brake button once and then hold the bottom button I can remote start from maybe half a street range. Other than that remote start is done through the app.
That key fob doesn’t have remote start. If you want one, they’re like $200-400. I just pay for Blue Link at $20 a month during the winter.
I have the same remote and I can remote start by pressing the lock button and then the trunk button, so you could try that. Now keep in mind I have a remote starter installed on my car; yours might not have one installed.

Well, duh.
You remote start by sending someone to your car, push the button start, and bring back the key to you.
I think remote start is more of a GM thing.
