Hyundai Dealership Crashed My Car—What Should I Do?

Hello everyone, I’m looking for advice on a frustrating situation. I took my 2020 Hyundai Sonata Limited to the dealership today to have some cosmetic issues fixed on the roof (part of the rubber was coming off). I got a call saying the car was ready, but when I arrived, they didn’t mention that they had crashed my car into another vehicle.

They tried hard to hide the damage, but I noticed it on the front passenger side. They wouldn’t let me see the damage until they took the car through a “wash,” and now they’re refusing to give me a replacement vehicle, claiming they don’t have any available. They just want me to drive my damaged car home and act like nothing happened.

I’m insisting on speaking with the general manager, but this has been incredibly frustrating. The dealership is Camelback Hyundai. What should I do in this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You need to speak to the general manager and demand a full explanation and resolution. Don’t let them brush you off.

Document everything: take pictures of the damage, keep copies of all communication, and gather any witness information if possible.

Consider contacting your insurance company to report the incident and get their advice.

Don’t accept their refusal for a replacement vehicle. Insist on one until your car is repaired properly. You’re not at fault here, so don’t let them push you around.

If the general manager doesn’t resolve the situation to your satisfaction, escalate the issue to Hyundai corporate. They have a customer care department that can help.

Make a corporate call and record everything.
