The new design is terrible, even for the Santa Fe. The back just looks like a plain, unattractive black wall. I doubt it will ever appeal to me.
Someone commented on the Electrek site that this solves the biggest issues they had with the EV9. The main problem was the lack of trunk space behind the third row, which is needed to fit a stroller. It seems this model also has some storage space in the front (a frunk). The hood looks short, so the inside might be quite spacious. This could be a great future replacement for our Chevy Traverse.
I do not know if you have seen the EV9 in person, but it is quite large. Even with the third row up, you can easily fit a Uppababy or Nuna stroller along with other items. There’s a lot of space inside.
It appears to be a pickup truck with a cargo cover.
