I can only figure out how much room there is for cargo in cubic feet. What are the measurements inside the back area when the back seats are folded down (from the front seats to the closed rear door)?
It seems that the Tucson actually offers around 74.8 cubic feet of cargo space, though Hyundai claims it to be 80. These measurements are based on folding down all seats except the front ones. It would be helpful if they provided the actual dimensions for easier comparison. Specifically, this is regarding the 2024 model.
How much cargo can fit in the back area of a vehicle if the front seats are removed but the back seats are left in place?
I don’t know about that but removing the front seats of a Hyundai Tucson while leaving the back seats in place may provide a bit of extra cargo space by a few cubic feet which may be beneficial for fitting long or oddly shaped items rather than significantly increasing overall cargo capacity. It’s more about convenience than a substantial expansion in space. I guess that is my logic when it comes to that.
I measured my 2022 white Tucson hybrid today with the rear seats folded and this is what I got. Plus I have added other details just in case.
- Length: 62"
- Max width: 56" (51.5" at doors)
- Min width: 40.75" (between wheel wells)
- Cargo door opening width: 43.5"
- Cargo door opening height: 29.25"
- Max height: 32.75" (with floor in top slide, add 3" for lower slide)
Hope this is helpful.
