Looking to Customize My 2024 Sonata N Line

I recently upgraded to a 2024 Sonata N Line and I’m curious about the customizations that others have done on their N Lines. I’ve been searching for ideas but haven’t found much. What have you all seen or done? (Just ignore my messy Elantra in the background)

In my first week with mine, I had to get the windows tinted. Coming from a Challenger, I wasn’t a fan of the fishbowl view in my new Sonata, so I went with 15% tint all around, plus a strip at the top of the windshield.

I also got partial paint protection film on the hood, bumper, fenders, and mirrors, along with a ceramic coating to keep the matte finish safe. You might not need a PPF since your paint isn’t matte, but it could be a good idea if you’re keeping the car long term.

For my N Line, I’m planning to get new tires and wheels next year. I’m looking at swapping them out for Enkei PX-10s and wrapping them in Continental DWS 06s, which are great all-season tires that offer better grip than the OEM ones, which tend to spin a bit too easily for the powertrain. I might also get lowering springs, but I’m considering coil-overs if they’re available.

As these cars age, we’ll definitely see more options for customization. I suggest checking out KDM Holic for body mods and SXTH Element for performance upgrades.

Tinting is happening really soon. I sunburn easily, so drives can be rough without it :joy: Those rims look great, but what tires do you recommend? I’m sure there’s some tire spin that can’t be too good for the transmission?

@Preme
I’m going for the Continental DWS 06 because they are amazing for high performance and work well in all seasons. I live in PA, so I need to be ready for bad weather, and these tires perform excellently. I’ve tested many of their tires at Continental’s track in Texas, and these are my top choice!

Wheelspin isn’t great, haha. Also, since it’s a DCT, try to reduce creeping in traffic and turn on Auto Hold (it’s right below the Drive Mode button). This keeps your car still after you take your foot off the brake at a stop sign or intersection, which really helps!

@danielsteeler
That tire handled my 600 HP Camaro during several snow storms last year and got me to work.

@danielsteeler
I have the DWS06 on my Mazda 6, and they’re really good in rain and dry weather (I’m in FL).

@Preme
Honestly, seasonal tires can’t be beaten. Even the cheapest summer or winter tires will outshine all-seasons in the right temperatures.

If you’re willing to spend a bit, Michelin and Continental both offer fantastic seasonal tires and solid all-season options. But, the Pilot Sport All Seasons have very stiff sidewalls for the performance they deliver; PS4S is a better option overall. From Continental, I’ve only used their DWS, and they’re great for all seasons.

If you’re looking for something more affordable, I was impressed with Kumho Ecsta PS31. They’re a bit soft for an Ultra High Performance Summer tire but still perform well, and they’re generally more budget-friendly. I used them on a Fiesta ST, and they replaced the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+. They are more comfy and offer better grip. I’d recommend them to anyone.

Visalia is on the map! Who did you buy from?

I can’t recall his name, but he was a new young guy who just moved from Florida. He was super nice. Visalia Hyundai treated me great. My credit was rough when I got my Elantra, but over the year that we had it, our score improved a lot, so being able to upgrade for nearly the same price was awesome.

@Preme
That’s great to hear! I only ask because I have a friend who works there, but not your salesman haha

I’m really bad with names, but once I see someone, I remember their face forever :joy:

I really wish there was a Sonata N

Ohh that’s kind of what I thought but I’m still a beginner lol :joy:

The Sonata is probably Hyundai’s best-looking car now

I really loved how my 2023 Elantra looked and I’m a fan of the Portofino Grey, so having that color on the Sonata was a big plus for me. My next upgrade might be an Ioniq 6 one day, but I’m just not ready for a fully electric car yet.

I’ve thought about repainting the N Line wheels all black and also painting the brake calipers.

I was actually looking into calipers first. I’d really love red ones, but I’ve seen red ones with the N logo on it that I like too. Just not sure where to find that design.
