Hey everyone! I’m having trouble with my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. It won’t start, and I’m not getting any ‘key not detected’ warnings when I put the key in. I spilled some water on the key fob while it was in the slot, and since then, the car hasn’t worked. The only things lighting up are the open door and headlight symbols when the headlights are on. IDK what to do… any tips?
Sounds like the key fob might have internal damage from the water spill. Try gently opening the fob and using a hair dryer on low heat to dry it out. Also, check the battery contacts inside.
If that doesn’t work, it might be worth checking the car’s battery too. Sometimes the fob isn’t the only issue.
My friend had a similar issue, and it turned out to be a blown fuse! Might be something to check.
Let us know how it goes! Hoping you get it started soon.
