My 2017 Sonata 2.4L hit 200k!

I miss that full tank range.

My last 08 Sonata only did like 300ish and I’m so happy to have around 500 each time.

I have a 2015 with 240k. Keep that oil changed!!! It’ll last!!!

My 2012 is almost there.

Keep up with oil changes and checking it and you’ll be good!

I really hope so  I couldn’t afford a new car in this market while working full time and college full time.

Woop woop :tada: my 2013 Sonata just hit 200k too!

Congratulations!! Just check the oil a lot and maybe we’ll both get to 300k.

This gives me hope for my 2017 Sonata. I just hit 100k miles and I’m mentally preparing for it to die any day now.

Not all are time bombs; just keep up with your oil.

That’s an achievement right there! I’m at 154k trying to ride it till it dies; hopefully, 300k miles.

Just check up with the oil; otherwise, you’ll be good.

Yeah, I’m religiously checking every 500 miles.

Yay congratulations!

Thanks! I love the car; it’s in great shape. Who knows, maybe when the engine does go, Hyundai will give me a new one for free under the class-action lawsuit. :joy:

@C.cole3
I saw you have oil consumptions! I would try changing the PCV!

I’ll give it a shot; I heard the part is pretty cheap and easy to change.

Congrats man :3

Thx

My 2018 2.4 burns all its oil by 500 miles and fouls the spark plugs for cylinder 3 & 4 every month. Started after warranty ended and now at 137,000. I wonder how long it can last.

Have you tried to get it checked under the class-action lawsuit? I think they extended the warranty of the 2.4L theta II engine until 150k but don’t quote me on it.

Have you had it since new? If so, that shows that taking care of it properly makes it last like it should, even with the bad motor. Many people that have those cars barely ever even check the oil level, forget about oil changes.
