You do know that losing 1 quart in 1,000 miles is pretty much the industry standard, right?
That seems really outdated. This isn’t the '80s anymore when cars started using oil at 90K miles. I’ve seen Toyotas with over 200K miles that don’t use a drop in 5,000 miles.
This engine is known for consuming oil. So I guess I should just keep adding oil and mess up the catalytic converter and O2 sensors too.

Mine’s not turbocharged. Losing 2.5 quarts in 5,000 miles under 72K miles is abnormal.
It’s not just Korean cars, you know.
Google is your friend.
Volkswagen and Audi: 1 quart of oil every 650 miles.
General Motors: 1 quart of oil every 2,000 miles.
Ford: 1 quart of oil every 1,000 miles.
Subaru: 1 quart of oil every 1,000 to 1,200 miles.
Hyundai and Kia: 1 quart every 1,000 miles.
Toyota: 1 quart every 1,200 miles.
I didn’t say it was turbocharged; I was making a general statement that oil consumption increases with turbocharging. Reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit.
@Barbara
I check my oil all the time, and none of my cars have ever used any oil between changes. We don’t buy Korean, so that might be the difference.

My last oil measurement was 2.1 quarts after 2,500 miles, but I take care of it, do weekly top-ups, and avoid idling.
If you idle a lot, your consumption will be through the roof. Just saying, keep another car handy; you might run out of oil, and your engine could seize. You’ll need transportation.
