Oil Issues with Hyundai Accent 2018—Anyone Else Dealing with This?

Hello guys…

I have a 2018 Hyundai Accent and recently had a bunch of work done on July 8th because of an oil leak. Today, while driving, my oil light came on, and when I checked, it was BONE dry. I took it back to the shop where I had the work done, and they told me that Hyundais are known for burning a lot of oil.

Is anyone else having this issue? If so, how are you dealing with it? The mechanic suggested checking the oil once a month or even every 2 weeks, but that seems a bit excessive to me. For context, I drive about 45 minutes to and from work, 5 days a week.

I’m 900 miles away from my next oil change, but the mechanic added oil, so he said I could wait. I was actually planning on getting an oil change today if he hadn’t topped it up.

Would love to hear if anyone else is dealing with this and how you manage it.

Thanks!
