Adding another complaint to the list—just had to replace the rear strut on my 2023 Palisade at 17,200 miles. What did I get myself into here?
I’ve had mine replaced twice, both times under warranty, on a 2020 Limited with 43,000 miles. The self-leveling shocks seem to have this issue.

Same question for you: were these from regular use, rough driving, or just a problem with the self-leveling? Mine’s being checked out, so I’m curious. Did you hear any crunchy noise, or was it just a rough ride?
@Magdalina
Mine’s a CPO, and I’ve driven it just under 3k miles in 7 months. All my driving is suburban—lots of stop-and-go with some highway. Nothing rough.

Same here. Mine’s also a CPO, and I’ve done about 2k miles so far. Everything’s covered under warranty, so I’m hoping they can sort it out while they’ve got it. Driving a loaner Santa Fe for now but I’d rather have my Palisade back.
I’m curious—were your struts failing due to regular driving, rough conditions, or just a fault with the self-leveling? Mine’s being checked out, and I’m wondering if I should expect a crunchy noise or just a rougher ride.
@Magdalina
First issue I had was fluid leaking on the outside of the shock. Second time, there was a popping noise while driving. Took them weeks to get the part in, so be prepared for a wait.

Yikes. They’ve had mine for about a week and a half now. Hopefully, they can figure it out soon.
How can you tell if you have a bad strut?
