Registering a Second Driver on MyBlueLink.ca

I’m a new Canadian owner of a 2022 Palisade Luxury. The dealership set me up with a BlueLink account, and it works great on my iPhone. Unfortunately, my wife’s Galaxy S9 isn’t compatible with the Android app.

I’ve heard she can access BlueLink via the web, but I’m having trouble setting that up. When I try to add/invite her as a secondary driver via the app or the website, I get an error message: “The provided email does not have a registered account for user profile. Please provide an email with a registered account to send an invitation email.”

We tried registering a new account via MyBlueLink.ca, but when I reach the “Create Profile” tab, it won’t accept any information other than my own. The error message says, “The information entered for First Name, Last Name does not match the retail information for this vehicle. Please refer to the email with this information sent to you at the time of purchase. If you did not get an email, please contact your Hyundai dealership.”

Does anyone know how to fix this so my wife can at least use BlueLink on the web? Do I need to contact the dealership to have her added to the retail information for the vehicle, or is this something I can do myself?

Any help would be appreciated!

That BlueLink frustration is a real messed up, especially when your iPhone’s working flawlessly!

Here’s the deal: it seems the dealership might’ve linked your purchase info to your account only. Don’t worry, this is fixable.

You definitely don’t need a new account for your wife. Here’s the winning move:

  1. Contact your Hyundai dealership. Explain the “retail information” error and your desire to add your wife as a secondary driver.
  2. They should be able to update the system to recognize both of you. This might involve some verification details, but it’s a quick fix on their end.

Once that’s done, your wife can access BlueLink on the web using your existing account credentials (with your permission of course!). No need for a separate app on her S9 – the web interface will do the trick.
