Replaced my Hyundai Sonata 2019 key... locks aren't responding?

Hey, I just replaced the key for my 2019 Hyundai Sonata. I kept the old key blade, but the doors don’t respond when I try to lock/unlock with the new key fob. Any idea if it’s a fuse or something? Manual locks still work though. Appreciate any help!

Sounds like a programming issue with the new key fob. Did you check if the transponder chip is inside the new housing?

Hmm, I didn’t even think about the chip. I just swapped the key blade. I’ll open it up and check, thanks!

@Arthur
No problem! Make sure the chip is in there. If that doesn’t work, it might just need to be reprogrammed.

Had the same issue. My new key fob needed reprogramming. You can try to sync it yourself or just take it to the dealership.

Thanks! I’ll give it a shot. I hope I don’t have to go to the dealership for this.

Check the fob’s battery too. Mine wasn’t working after I replaced the key, and it turned out the battery was dead.

Good call. I’ll check the battery as well!

If the manual locks work, I doubt it’s a fuse. Sounds more like the key fob or something with the programming.

Yeah, the manual locks are fine, just the remote isn’t working. Hopefully it’s just a reprogramming issue.

I had to re-sync my fob after replacing the housing. There’s a trick where you turn the ignition on and hit the lock button. Worth a try before hitting up the dealership.

That’s exactly what I needed! Just programmed it and it works now. Thanks so much!
