Love this thing, but worried about all the space in the upper and lower portions of the front grill, especially when the flaps open up exposing a lot of radiator. Seems very susceptible to insects and road debris damage. Does anyone know of mesh screening or something similar that can be installed on the inside to help protect the radiator? Amazon has this one
@TomHenry
I can confirm if you use the cabin temp balance feature and ride windows down or sunroof open, like myself, those front vents are open Luckily I haven’t caught a bird or critter yet so that’s good. I’ve had mine since July and drive it daily in the southern comfort of North Mississippi. If that changes I’ll gladly update the sub.
100+ for a couple of steel mesh sheets is kinda high. I’d be looking for an alternative from AliExpress or Temu. For that price, it should include mounting and not freaking zip ties. Just my 2 cents
Wait until you see every other non-electric car… A branch could go through some of those grills and puncture the radiator. Or think of all those bugs plastered to the radiator!
Unless something huge flies through there, it’s not different than a car without them. One or both of the rads are pretty much always exposed on all cars.

Off topic… Man, you’re so lucky you don’t have a front plate! My dealer put the dang bracket on and I can’t remove it now!
I insisted to the dealer to ‘NOT’ install the front bracket on my bumper during the prep at the time of purchase!!! (If you remove it, there’s going to be screw holes in the front bumper)
@malawi
Ours was already on. We couldn’t find a single one without it. Dealer said they put the front plate in as soon as it comes off the truck. Ugh! Yep we know there’s holes. We will just leave the plate off and keep the bracket there, I guess. I hate front plates. So ugly.
