Hey, I’m about to order a TUCSON PHEV Executive in white.
I’ve never had a car with a panoramic sunroof.
Is it worth it? Does it make the car too hot in summer? I live in Eastern Europe.
Yes, 100% go for the panoramic sunroof.

Doesn’t it make the car really hot on summer days?

It does a bit, but that’s what the shade is for.
@Cynthia
Does the shade actually help with the heat? What’s your experience?

Yeah, it does the job.

No car stays cool under direct sun, so you might as well have a sunroof to let the hot air escape faster when you first get in. Just close the shade when parked, and when you get back, open the sunroof for a minute while turning on the AC.

Yeah, closing the shade definitely helps.

The sunroof is tinted, so it helps. On really hot days, it does make a difference, but closing the shade is usually enough. I had a panoramic sunroof in my last car and only closed the shade on the hottest days.

A metal roof and a glass roof aren’t that different in terms of heat. Closing the shade works about the same as a normal roof liner. The main reason to skip the sunroof is if you’re tall—it cuts down headroom a bit.
Honestly… it’s okay. I have one in my 2024 hybrid, and I keep it closed most of the time.

Same here. It’s fun at first, but after a week, I barely use it. I got it in the 2024 hybrid SEL and maybe use it once or twice a month. I’ve also heard stories about sunroofs having issues, so I kinda wish I had skipped it.
@Victor
The only good thing about it is that it doesn’t take up headroom like in some other cars.
Yeah, definitely get it.
I love mine. Even in winter, I keep the shade open to let in more light. I’d say go for it.

I didn’t think I’d care much, but I actually love it. Makes the car feel more open.
Sunroof all the way. It’s great for bringing in extra light, especially in gloomy weather.
It’s nice, but if you have roof rails, it gets noisy on the highway, even when it’s closed.
Not a fan. It’s fragile, only useful in certain situations, takes away headroom, costs more, and makes the car weaker in a crash.
