Thinking about getting a 2018 SEL Hyundai Elantra with 80k miles for $11k. I’m looking for an affordable car but I’m a bit worried about theft. I live in a regular neighborhood in Austin and I don’t want to have to lock the car every single day.
It’s cheap because of the risks involved. If you want to save money but worry about theft, be prepared to pay for a new window or even deal with it getting stolen. If you prefer to avoid the stress, consider another option. Personally, I wouldn’t buy any Hyundai older than 2023 if I lived in a city.
Does it use a push button or a key to start?

The website mentions it has a ‘Multi-Function Remote - Keyless Entry’.

Got it. So is the start a button or a key?
@barak
Looks like it’s a key.

Then it probably doesn’t have an immobilizer. We had a 2015 model that got stolen, and I now use a club as a deterrent. Just know that if someone wants your car bad enough, they’ll still take it. You might want to check insurance rates too.
