I’m stuck choosing between these two for my first car. Both are 2025 models, probably hybrids, and I’ll likely get the base version unless someone convinces me otherwise. Any tips or advice would be great .
I have a 2024 Hybrid Limited Elantra. I rented a Corolla during a trip in October, and honestly, I hated it. It felt cramped, and getting in and out was a struggle. (I’m 6 feet tall.) The transmission on the rental wasn’t smooth, which was worrying. Also, the stereo kept disconnecting my phone whenever my wife tried to use Siri or any menu. Overall, it was not a good experience.

Never heard it called ‘summoning Siri’ before. I’m totally stealing that term.

I’m also 6 feet tall… definitely need to test drive it now.

Test drives are super important. Go with the one that feels better to drive. I chose the Elantra because even though the Corolla might last longer, it wouldn’t matter if I hated driving it. My 2024 Elantra N-line makes driving enjoyable.
Haven’t driven a 2025 Corolla, but Toyotas, in my opinion, feel clunky. My 2024 Elantra feels smooth, luxurious, and packed with features for less money than Toyota. Plus, the warranty is great.
I traded my old Corolla for a 2024 Elantra (gas version), and it’s a big upgrade. The Elantra is smoother, more comfortable, and has much better tech. Definitely a great choice for me, but it depends on your priorities.
I drove a new Corolla recently. I’d probably pick the Elantra.
You can get an Elantra for way less money…

Yeah, but insurance for Hyundais is higher because of the theft issues.
I had a Corolla rental while my 2023 Elantra hybrid was in the shop. The Corolla was boring, loud, and had connectivity issues with CarPlay. Driving it made me appreciate my Elantra even more.

Same here. I rented a Corolla for a trip and couldn’t wait to get back to my Elantra.
The Corolla is reliable, but it looks dull inside and out compared to the Elantra. I felt more cramped in the Corolla during test drives. The Elantra has more features for less money, looks cooler, and is more comfortable. Plus, I didn’t want a car my parents would drive, lol.
I have a 2024 Elantra Hybrid Limited, and my daughter just bought a 2025 Corolla Sport. She prefers the ride and layout of the Corolla, and it seems to have fewer tech issues than my Elantra.
We need more details. Are you buying new or used? What models specifically?

Oh, sorry about that. Let me update the post.
Elantra for safety features. Corolla for reliability.
I chose the Elantra because the driver’s seat was way more comfortable. Plus, I liked the design and got more features for the price.
I have a 2017 Elantra. Before that, I had a Honda, which was a total nightmare. After experiencing the Elantra, I’m not sure I’d go back to those ‘better’ brands. Hyundais give you so much more for your money.
