I got four U.S. Wheel steel wheels and had them custom powder-coated to match the ‘Red Tomato’. I also added some new Goodyear tires, chrome lug bolts, and xtool TPMS sensors to finish it off. It’s a 2023 EX model.
I hate it (but I love it)
Such a unique look, really love it. Tired of seeing all the white and grey cars on the road. Hope you get as many looks as possible .

Sometimes, it feels like driving through a black-and-white photo.

I do get a lot of attention. People often ask me, ‘WHAT IS THAT?’ LOL… It really feels like the car factories only offer like 4 colors of paint these days!
Caliente!
I have a 2014 red EX model, and this idea is great. I’ve been wanting to mod it since I got it but wasn’t sure where to start.

Steel wheels aren’t too expensive either.

Even more reason to do it then .

I was just browsing there earlier when I saw your post, haha.
@solesfin
The ones I picked are from U.S. Steel. And yes, they’re made in China!

But the quality is top-notch. Honestly, I buy a lot from China. My son lives there in Ningbo; he’s a teacher. The factories in China produce a lot of the stuff around the world these days.
@Charlotte
I really hope the relationship with China stays strong. I like good products at fair prices!

Thanks. I’ve been wanting colored wheels (but not aluminum) and already got some refinishing materials. I’ve got carbon overlays on the 18" OEM wheels. I found a set with minor blemishes for $200—cheaper than steelies at $80 each. I’m not trying to look like a WRX with gold wheels. I saw those Fifteen52 Analog HD wheels in gray, and they looked simple but classy on a Bronco. I checked the fitment website, and the OEM wheels are 18x7.5 +55 with 235/45/r18 tires. Since I’m close to needing new tires, now is the time for new wheels. I’m going with the same size tires on 18x7 +55 wheels. The hub is matched at 67.1mm. According to the data, I won’t have any issues with rubbing or backseat space. The only change I’d make is with the spacers. I went with 20mm, but I should’ve gone with 25mm (30mm rub when cornering or riding with passengers). I’m really excited to see how it turns out.
@Mercy
We’re excited too! Be sure to post pictures. These steel wheels replaced the 17" OEM ones that were in the back of the original picture. There’s a very slight difference in the bore size of these, but I can’t stand centering rings. I just make sure the lug bolts are tightened properly, and the ride is smooth.
@Charlotte
So, why do I hate centering rings, you ask? Haha. Most of them are plastic, and when you adjust the lug bolts, they get ‘squished,’ and then you’re always re-tightening them. I think I have a 2-3 mm difference in the bore size. Since I’m not racing, I use good conical-shaped lug nuts, and the raised solid openings on these steel wheels make everything work just fine. I’ve taken the car up to 80 MPH, and there are no vibrations or wobbles. Since your bore size matches perfectly, you don’t need to worry about it.
@Charlotte
Hubcentric, non-Temu ones. They’re solid. My lugs are 12x1.5 acorn security lugs. They hold the wheel well, but they don’t hold the centercap trim. That was a $50 lesson. I wouldn’t trust those from AutoZone.
