It’s great to protect your investment and I don’t think they look bad at all. Honestly, it’s more about function than looks here.
Side note: I don’t have a Santa Fe at the moment, but I plan to get one next year. I’ve seen dealers use the key fob to control the car in tight parking situations like yours. The car can move forward and backward without you needing to get inside, so you don’t need the door protectors. It also has safety features that stop the car if something gets in its way.
If you’re not familiar with this, it’s worth checking out! .
@oliviamartin
I’ve thought about using that system with my Kona too, but I only have a couple of feet of driveway before I block the laneway, so it’s more useful when going out.
It’d be difficult to line up to back it in, especially since I live right near an intersection.
@oliviamartin
You’re right, I tried that out myself. The problem is that my parking spot has a gate on one side, and it juts out right at the entrance, making it tricky to maneuver in. By the time you manage to get in, you’re already far enough in that the remote fob won’t help getting out.
@KonaKing
That makes sense. I guess it works well in spots where you don’t have that extra maneuvering to do.
After reading your post, I’ll definitely consider getting these for my car in case I end up with similar tight spots.
Can you move the car in and out of the spot using the remote fob?

Not really, I just replied to a comment about this. Unfortunately, my parking spot has some challenges that make the remote fob option not so useful in this case.
I think they look great.
I have clear ones, but I think these black ones look great and blend in well.

I’d love to see how yours turned out, if you have any pics!

These are Xpel, so not exactly a clear door protector but more like a clear door film.
Here’s a link if it works:
@Douglas
Wow, that looks almost invisible! I wish I had that option for my situation.
With my Kona, I have an issue in my garage because of shelving on both sides. I solved it by getting a pool noodle, cutting off a 4-inch piece, and splitting it down the middle, then taping it to the edge of the shelving where it touches the doors.
I park rear end in and use a lump of lumber as a ‘bump stop’ for the rear tires, so it works for me.
@Zack
That’s a smart solution! I wish I could safety-proof the surrounding areas of my spot like that, but it’s an outdoor spot with a big wall and gate on both sides.
I think they look good with the black accents on the car. Well done.

Thanks! That’s really nice of you to say
Door shox… look them up. I have them on my 2024 Calligraphy.

Oh wow, that could be perfect for my situation! I’ll look into them, thanks for the suggestion.
What brand are the door protectors?

They’re by Winunite. I hadn’t heard of them before, but they had good reviews on Amazon. The installation was super easy, and I’m happy with the look. Now I just need to see how they hold up over time!
